Knowing that Baccarat is a fairly simple game, each player can pick a betting strategy that can help him be successful in his overall baccarat betting journey.
During the years of changes in baccarat playing styles, plenty of betting strategies, rules, and systems were created. Players are free to pick what works best for them and stick to it.
Betting With the Banker
There is one basic baccarat strategy that is always recommended to be followed: Bet with the banker. This is, at the same time, the safest one.
According to statistics, the price edge for banker bets is just 1.06%, and the return for the player is an amazing 98.94%. The payout for banker bets is 19:20, but as it’s very popular, some online casino sites charge a 5% commission.
The Banker bet wins 45.87% and loses 44.65%, and 9.51% goes for a tie. Considering those statistics, it’s clear that the banker bet is more likely to win compared to the other two options, making it a very good free baccarat strategy to use.
Martingale Strategy
Knowing the basic baccarat strategy to bet on the banker may not satisfy some players, who can jump into other alternatives that are applicable to the game.
One of the most popular strategies out there is the Martingale Baccarat system. It became popular in the 18th century in France and was mainly used for roulette wagering. But it fits almost any casino game, including Baccarat.
The whole idea behind the Martingale online baccarat strategy is to always double the bet until the player wins when the process starts over.
To start using this free baccarat strategy, the player has to be prepared with a larger amount of funds, and pick what type of bet to use.
So, if the first bet of the player is $10 on the Banker, and if the bet is losing, the next one should be $20. If you are losing once again, the system suggests continuing with $40, then $80, etc., until a winning bet comes.
In the long term, this online baccarat strategy will bring back all the stakes to the player, including some profits. When a winning bet comes, the martingale system suggests reducing the stakes by half, but some baccarat bettors prefer starting over, so it’s a question of choice.
The Martingale system is a 100% winning baccarat strategy, but only if the player is ready to start with a bigger budget, as the bets may escalate very quickly until a winning one comes. If the player started with $10, the 5th bet should be worth $240.
Fibonacci Baccarat Game Strategy
Fibonacci is another betting system that works in almost any casino game but fits very well in Baccarat gameplay.
The Fibonacci betting system consists of increasing the bet each time the player loses, using the Fibonacci sequence. A Fibonacci sequence is progressive and consists of taking the sum of the previous two numbers. In Baccarat game strategy, it will look like this:
If the player started with $10, the second bet should be 10 + 0 = 10. The second bet has to be 20 + 10 = $30, but the next one will come as $30 + $20 = $50, then $80, $130, etc.
The easiest way for a player to visualize how this works is to imagine this line:
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, etc., where each number is the sum of the previous two.
The Fibonacci Baccarat system requires a bigger bankroll, like the Martingale one, but is a winning baccarat strategy.
Paroli Baccarat Betting System
Paroli is another very interesting betting system that works in most casino games, mainly table games, like roulette, baccarat, blackjack, poker, etc. The game is the opposite of the Martingale system, as in Paroli, the player has to double the stake until he wins one. Paroli is also popular as Reverse Martingale.
The Paroli Baccarat System works in the following way:
- If the player staked $10 on the banker’s hand, he has to keep betting $10, until a bet is won.
- If the bet is winning, the player has to increase the stake to $20.
- If the bet is lost, the stake should be brought back to the original stake of $10. But, if it’s winning, the stake should be doubled to $40.
- If the winning streak continues, the bet should be increased to $80, but if lost, the sequence has to be brought back to the original amount of $10.
The whole point of the Paroli system is for the player to get 3 consecutive wins, which will bring back the losses and end up with profits on top.
The Laboucher System
The Laboucher Betting System, also popular as Split Martingale, Cancellation System, or American Progression, was invented by a French roulette player, whose name was Henry Laboucher.
The system works for any casino game with even money bets. Unfortunately, the Laboucher system is much more complex than the others mentioned above, but if a player gets used to it, it may bring some profits to the bank.
The Laboucher is a negative progression system that requires the player to increase the stake each time after a loss. In this system, the player has to recover losses with a few wins after a negative streak, unlike the Martingale, for example.
The Laboucher can be considered as a combination of the systems mentioned above.
How does it work?
- The player should pick a sequence, like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
- The player should take the number equal to the sum of the first and last numbers of the sequence, in this case: 1 + 6 = 7
- If the bet comes as winning, the two numbers have to be removed from the sequence, making it: 2, 3, 4, 5,
- If the bet is lost, the number has to be added to the end: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
The objective of the Laboucher betting strategy in baccarat is to remain with just one number when the player will not only gain back the losses but end up with profits on top.
The D’Alembert System
The D’Alembert Betting System was invented in the 18th Century by the French theorist Jean Le D’Alembert. It is a progressive system, very similar to the Martingale.
Its difference is that quick losses are prevented in a very smart way. It works in pretty much any casino game, but once again fits very well for baccarat bettors.
To start using the D’Alembert system in baccarat, the player has to pick a base stake, usually the amount of 1 chip.
Let’s say one chip is worth $1, the progression starts by betting $5. Then, after a loss, the player should add $1 to the stake size. If the bet is successful, the base should be taken out of the stake size, bringing it back to $5, in this case.
